Info and Policies
Snuggle Herd toys are made from upcycled, snuggly-soft cotton t-shirts. We gather them at thrift stores, looking for the ones that have a stain or an undesirable "Fun Run 2004" type of slogan. We don't want to cut up the shirts that are still perfectly wearable, just the ones that are destined for scrap material or the landfill. The toys are stuffed with shredded wool fiber from unwanted sweaters, made by Washtucna Fiber Regeneration. So all-in-all, these toys are made from about 90% upcycled materials! Only the thread, embroidery floss, lining and some printed fabrics used for small details are new. Not to worry though, the used materials are all carefully washed & odor-free!
All Snuggle Herd products are handcrafted in our smoke-free, one-cat home in Austin, TX. Kitty-cat is not allowed to frolic in the fabric, much as he would like to.

Payment

The Snuggle Herd accepts PayPal only. Payment is due at time of order. Payment must be received within 24 hours or the order will be canceled.
We understand that sometimes it may be necessary for you to cancel an order for one reason or another. If so, please contact us as soon as possible. As long as we are notified within 48 hours after receiving your order, we will be happy to cancel the order & refund your payment. Please understand that we cannot cancel & refund your payment if MORE than 48 hours have passed since your order was placed, as your item may already be on its merry little way to your house. {EXCEPTION: During the month of December, orders will be shipped out the same day when possible, & therefore cannot be canceled!}

1) Orders are shipped 2-4 business days after your cleared payment, unless they are custom orders (see below). {EXCEPTION: During the month of December, orders will be shipped out the same day when possible.}
2) In the U.S., orders are shipped using USPS Priority Mail, with delivery confirmation at no extra charge. Insurance is available for an extra cost; contact us for details. (We can not offer a refund for items damaged in shipping, so please consider buying the USPS insurance. We package items very carefully, but accidents do happen.)
3) International shipping is available; please contact us for details and a price quote. It is much more efficient & accurate for us to do international shipping quotes on an as-needed basis.
Gifting
If you’re purchasing a gift, we can ship it directly to the recipient, with pretty gift wrap and a message from you, at no extra charge! Just let us know the details in the “notes to seller” on your Etsy order.

Refunds and Exchanges
We hope you understand the following return policy although it may seem restrictive. Big box stores with the very accomodating return policies we've become accustomed to routinely absorb the costs associated with returns, such as shipping, re-stocking, loss of merchandise and the like. Those costs are offset by the extremely high volume of sales the large stores receive, but are simply too costly for small businesses like ours.
1) The Snuggle Herd's general return policy is to allow only exhanges. No refunds will be given unless there is an error on our part. Excepting errors on our part, the customer must pay all applicable shipping charges.
2) Returns are only allowed within 30 days of purchase, and only if the item shows no sign of use.
3) Returns are allowed only on regular items, never on custom orders. |
Custom Orders
We enjoy doing custom work and welcome your ideas! Please use the "Request Custom Item" link on our Etsy storefront to tell us what you'd like.
IMPORTANT DETAILS:
1) All custom orders require a small additional fee to cover the materials and labor expenses associated with creating a one-off item. The fees are as follows:
***$4 in addition to the item price if the custom order involves a pre-existing Snuggle Herd design made from different fabric than that which is currently offered (in other words, a different color combination).
***$10 in addition to the item price if the custom order requires original art &/or an original toy pattern. Original art & toy patterns are defined as any design that is not currently offered for sale by The Snuggle Herd.
2) Please allow 4-6 weeks delivery for custom orders. In most cases it will not take that long, but please be understanding if it does. Each item is handmade, and The Snuggle Herd is only a one-woman-show!
3) Custom orders are non-returnable and no refunds can be given on custom orders. Rest assured though, that we will be in close contact with you to work out the details, sending a photo of your chosen fabrics and/or a mock-up of the design to make sure you are happy with it before making it.
4) All rights to original art &/or toy patterns created for custom orders belong exclusively to The Snuggle Herd. The Snuggle Herd reserves the right to reuse custom art &/or toy patterns for other Snuggle Herd products at our discretion.
